HealthSys Founder, Steve Vebber:
Steve Vebber has over 25 years of experience in the Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) marketplace. He has helped virtually hundreds of healthcare organizations realize the value of information technology in achieving their goals. His expertise, developed while working his entire career for industry leading IT vendors, gives him a unique perspective on the successful application of technology in the healthcare setting.
As a senior HIT executive, he has reviewed and negotiated countless IT agreements from the vendor side of the table, providing him with extensive and rare insight into this difficult process. Steve leverages this vendor insight to assist his customers in achieving cost effective, high value IT agreements that minimize their risk and position them for successful long term relationships.
Throughout his career, he has proven to be an accomplished leader, creating cutting edge software applications, innovative delivery solutions and improved customer satisfaction levels for the hundreds of customers with whom he has worked. His expertise in streamlining administrative and clinical processes, promoting efficiency and reducing costs by facilitating the productive utilization of information technology has added significant value to hospitals, medical practices, and other health care organizations across the United States .
Steve began his career in 1977 as an Implementation Specialist/Account Executive for the Health Systems Division of McDonnell Douglas Automation Company
(MCAUTO). Since that time, he has made significant contributions to the industry working in a variety of increasingly responsible positions with HIT vendors. While his responsibilities have included a wide variety of functions, his strength and passion continues to be collaborating with customers to develop successful strategies and methodologies to maximize technology, while increasing the value of their investment.
During the past 20 years, Steve has held senior executive positions for such HIT industry companies as McDonnell Douglas Health Systems, Systems Associates Inc.
(SAI), American Express Health Systems Group, First Data Corporation Health Systems Group, HBO & Co., and McKesson Corporation. Most recently, he held the position of Vice President of Operations with Misys Healthcare Systems where he was responsible for Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records product solutions installed at approximately 10,000 physicians practices and multi-specialty clinics. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice President at
McKessonHBOC, managing a strategic business unit responsible for clinical, financial and administrative software products and services at over 600 medical centers in the United States and Puerto Rico .
