A. HealthSys Solutions Group (HSG) is a healthcare consulting firm providing IT expertise and services to hospitals, medical practices, and other health care organizations. Q. Who are the principals of HSG?  

A. The firm was founded by Steve Vebber an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience in the Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) marketplace.  He has helped virtually hundreds of healthcare organizations realize the value of information technology in achieving their goals.  His expertise, developed while working his entire career for industry leading IT vendors, gives him a unique perspective on the successful application and deployment of technology in the healthcare setting.

A. Our experience and knowledge is unique.  Having worked for and competed against industry leading IT vendors for over 25 years we have observed first hand what works and what doesn’t and more importantly, why.  In addition, this expertise leads to more streamlined and cost efficient processes by cutting through a lot of the unnecessary red tape sometimes associated with the successful acquisition, deployment and utilization of these IT solutions. Further we are vendor independent. These characteristics clearly make a difference.

Q. How do you assess viabilities and efficiencies?  How do you know what to look for?

A. Our extensive involvement with literally hundreds of hospitals, medical practices, and other health care organizations of all sizes in negotiating IT agreements, developing and managing software implementation projects and developing and deploying services to optimize IT utilization has equipped us with a unique insight on creating effective and efficient strategies for success in maximizing the value of your technology investment.  We apply this knowledge and focus our assessments around “conditions of qualitative and quantitative satisfaction” to arrive at objectives and measurable outcomes that add value for our customers.

Q. Do you work alone?

A. If the scope of the project is within our core competence, we generally work alone.  However, if there is a portion of a larger project we do not feel qualified to address and add value, we collaborate with expert resources outside of HSG that are approved in advance by our clients.  In all cases, HSG will “own” the project and be responsible for the results.

A. “Vendor experience” refers to the relevant cumulative knowledge gained over 25 years working for and competing against leading healthcare information software companies.  This experience gives us a unique insight into how vendors operate and interact with the market as well as a rare perspective as to why software solutions succeed and fail in seemingly similar types of healthcare organizations.  We leverage this knowledge in collaborating with our customers to provide superior value and return on their IT investments.

Q. How do you sell and charge your services?

A. We focus our efforts around collaboration with our customers to identify objectives that result in measurable improvements that increase the technology value to their organization.  We associate our fees in relation to the project outcomes and defined value to be delivered.  In this way, there is a cap on your investment, the desired outcomes are measured with clarity and you don’t worry about a continuous meter running or project creep. In addition, clients pay out of pocket expenses associated with completing the project

Q. How long does a typical “engagement” last?  How long are you on site?

A. Every engagement has different objectives and requirements.  The duration and on-site requirements are solely dependent on how long it takes to solve a customer’s need.  After a preliminary fact finding discussion, we focus on the most expedient method to achieve successful outcomes.  These elements would be discussed prior to any proposal being submitted.

Q. What personnel do you normally work with at your customer sites and how much of their time is involved?

A. After ascertaining the objectives, we work with you to outline the scope and tasks necessary to successfully achieve the desired results.  At that time we recommend who would be the most effective personnel to collaborate with and how much time it will require.
